About the hospital pharmacy enterprise 

Sykehusapotekene HF is a hospital pharmacy enterprise owned by the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority (www.helse-sorost.no).

Sykehusapotekene HF shall be a regional pharmaceutical competence centre, and contribute to better patient safety. Sykehusapotekene HF shall actively contribute to reducing costs for hospitals with respect to the procurement, distribution, production and use of medicines. Sykehusapotekene HF is to run the health region’s hospital pharmacies, and administer the national drug procurement cooperation LIS (www.lisnorway.no) for the four regional health authorities. Sykehusapotekene HF shall deliver high quality pharmaceutical health services equal to all, regardless of age, place of residence, ethnic background, gender or personal economy, together with related research, training and other services.

Sykehusapotekene HF shall specifically produce and deliver:   

-          Deliveries of medicines and pharmacy products ordered by hospitals in the health region.

-          Hospital drug emergency supplies and services.

-          Pharmaceutical research, training and consulting.

-          Education and training of pharmaceutical students.

-          Retail sales of medicines to hospital patients and staff.

-          Production and preparation of medicines not available or registered on the market.

-          Professional pharmaceutical services to support rational hospital drug use, including information and training to hospital health professionals and patients.
